Defensive Devil to Chicago

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed John Madden to a 1 year, $2.75 Million dollar contract.

One of the best defensive specialists in the game is leaving the team that drafted him for the Windy City of Chicago. Madden will add leadership experience from his two Stanley Cup wins to a young Chicago dressing room. Not an offensive threat, 23 points in 76 games, Madden will be a the shut down guy on penalty kills and an important face-off man.

Fantasy Outlook: Madden offers little in the way of an offensive upside. He does have value when it comes to face-off percentage and may be an option in roto league formats. If he does fit into your team, you should be able to grab him in later rounds of your draft.
