From Motor City to Van City

The Vancouver Canucks have signed Mikael Samuelsson to a 3 year, $7.5 Million dollar contract.

Primarily used as a depth winger in Detroit, Samuelsson will get the opportunity to play on the top line in Vancouver. With 40 points in 81 games last season, Samuelsson offers veteran leadership and a scoring touch around the net that the Canucks have been seeking.

Fantasy Outlook: The potential for Samuelsson is unknown at this point. With a career high of 45 points, Samuelsson should surpass that playing with the Sedins in all situations in Vancouver. Owners may anticipate that Samuelsson will be in for an offensive breakout and draft him much earlier then warranted. 60 points is not out of the question for Samuelsson next season, draft him accordingly.
