Fantasy Quick Hits Volume 3

Hal Gill: This Stanley Cup champion has migrated north to Montreal to help give the Canadiens an identity. The 6’7”, 250 lbs dman has no fantasy value and should be passed upon in a draft.

Ian Laperriere: He will fit perfectly as a Broadstreet Bully. Laperriere scored 19 points and 163 PIMs in 74 games last season. Expect more of the same in Philly as he will be used as a role-player on the third or fourth lines. He may have some fantasy value for his PIMs and can be picked up on your waiver wire.

Donald Brashear: The 37 year old veteran makes his way to the Rangers to protect the youth and offer veteran leadership to the team. At this point Brashear offers little fantasy value to owners as there are better options for PIMs.

Steve Montador: The Sabres will benefit from Montador’s gritty style of play. With 21 points and 143 PIMs in 78 games, he has minimal fantasy value and may be used as a depth guy in deeper leagues.

Radek Dvorak: The Panthers have signed the winger to a 2 year contract, where in 81 games Dvorak scored 36 points. Dvorak is a top 9 player in Florida but has minimal fantasy value as he only hit 50 points once in the last six seasons.

Tomas Kopecky: The 27 year old goes from the Red Wings to rival Blackhawks and will play as the fourth line centerman. He has little fantasy value as he is merely a depth player.
